Campus Culture Studio
Are you an international student looking to meet new people?
Are you interested in practicing your English language skills?
Are you curious about college life in the United States?
If the answer is yes, come join us for a Campus Culture Studio event!
The Campus Culture Studio is an inclusive space for AU’s international students to discuss different aspects of American college culture, such as
- Why are college sports such a big deal in America?
- What are Fraternities and Sororities?
- How important is Disney in our day-to-day lives?
In Spring 2018, The Center for Language Exploration, Acquisition and Research (CLEAR) teamed up with the International Accelerator Program to create The Campus Culture Studio.
The Studio’s mission is to provide international students with a comfortable venue to learn about and engage with the more nuanced cultural aspects of college life in Washington DC and, more broadly, in the United States.
Presentations are hosted by AU students. Every week we cover a new topic and the events are casual and candid.
In the past we have covered Greek Life on Campus, College Dating Culture, American Popular Culture through Film and Music, Student Activism Against Climate Change, and Fandom/Fan Fiction. If there’s something you would like to discuss, we accept new suggestions every week!
