Faculty and Staff Offices Begin Relocating to Tenley Campus

The first out of four groups of faculty and staff at American University Washington College of Law have begun moving into their new workspace at Tenley Campus. War Crimes Research Office, the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, the Project on Addressing Prison Rape, the Office of Special Events and Continuing Legal Education, as well as some teams of the Office of Technology and Facilities Management are among the inaugural group.

Students Explore the New Tenley Campus

On Oct. 15, Dean Claudio Grossman took a group of more than 30 current American University Washington College of Law students on a hard-hat tour of the new Tenley Campus buildout. Prior to the tour, the students had an opportunity to meet with the Dean and ask him questions about his career and the new campus in an informal atmosphere.

On October 6, American University Washington College of Law faculty and staff joined Dean Grossman on the Tenley Campus tour. The two groups toured new classroom and clinic spaces in the Yuma Building, the academic heart of the new campus, and visited the 6,000 square feet Grossman Hall. After getting a sneak peak of the grand Ceremonial Courtroom in the Warren Building, they continued the tour in the Pence Law Library.

Tenley Campus Targeting LEED Gold Certification

The new Tenley Campus is on target to becoming LEED Gold certified. LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is a green building certification program that is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability. To achieve certification, building projects must meet prerequisites and earn points to achieve varying levels of certification ranging from certified to platinum.
